Behind the Scenes at The Rivers Casino

Would you like to know more about how gambling got its start, the route from Las Vegas to Pittsburgh, and whether crime has increased? Then you and three guests should plan to attend the evening session held at The Rivers Casino and hosted by our own Kenneth T. McCabe. Ken is the former SAC of the FBI Pittsburgh who got the Alumni Association started and continues to support our organization.

The date for this event will be May 19. Additional details will be provided in April.

The FBI Academy at Quantico and FBI Headquarters Tour

The tour of the FBI Academy will be Wednesday, July 21 and the tour of FBI Headquarters will be Thursday, July 22.

Many Members have toured Quantico multiple times and this is always a high rated tour. The facility remains the same, but the speakers, topics and schedule are new and different each year. Three Supervisory Special Agents took time form their day to talk to us about their path to the FBI, one with an advanced degree in zoology and one who disliked foreign language studies in high school and now speaks 7-languages in order to speak with his counterparts around the globe.

The group also spent 4-hours at FBI Headquarters, the first time this has been offered to our Members. From the impromptu session with the bomb dog outside the building , the surprise meet and greet with Director Mueller and the sessions with Deputy Director Kortan and the Unit Chiefs in charge of investigating hate crimes and public affairs and the most interesting job title, Chief Knowledge Officer.

This year we will attempt to meet our Members’ request and will allow participation in one or both portions of the tour. Members registering for both tours will get first preference, and those requesting only one portion will be wait-listed for that tour.

We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, in Stafford, Virginia. Additional details regarding the tour will be provided in April.

Members Only Range Night

SAC Rodriquez stayed with us last year, thru the cold drizzle and the late, pitch black evening. (Some of us had tinted eye protection making a night shoot even more interesting.) This year SAC Rodriguez is providing us with our own Range Night, for Members Only. Our original date in April has been postponed due to the FBI’s training needs., and has been rescheduled for an evening during the week of August 16.

Join us at the range in Monroeville for dinner, a safety presentation and then an evening on the range. Additional details will be delivered in May.
